Join us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Wounded Warriors of Collier County.
We give you the inside look and some mind-blowing stats as we sit down with Diego Gil Jr. a veteran and Vice President of Wounded Warriors in Collier County and also a partner in DOS SANTOS LAW.
Did you know since 2019 more than 78 communities and the entire states of Connecticut, Delaware, and Virginia have effectively ended homelessness among veterans?
We find out 1.4 Million veterans are at risk of becoming homeless due to poverty, dismal living conditions, and lack of support networks.
Also, we note there are over 50,000 homeless veterans who have fought for our country and our rights sleeping on our streets in America.
9 out of 10 of those veterans are men who have been or fought in
World War 2, Korean War, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq wars among other conflicts.
There are well over 70 Homeless veterans in Collier County alone as of the last count.
Wounded Warriors of Collier County works closely with programs and groups like the Hunger & Homeless Coalition of Collier County. The David Lawrence Center and the St. Mathews House to help our veterans get the support and help they need.
Also, we sit down and interview Kimmy Curry of Salt & Light Media Group.
